The Santa Cruz Municipal Wharf plays host to many favorite local events throughout the year. Olitas is a popular place to watch any of these wharf activities. Our second-story location is the perfect place to view any event on the wharf stage. Whether it is the Polynesian dancers at the Aloha Outrigger Festival, a local jazz band at the Art, Wine & Jazz Festival, or a costume contest on Halloween, Olitas is the place to be. From both the dining room and bar area of Olitas, you can hear the music of the Jazz Festival, see the outrigger races in the water, and window-shop at the various local merchant booths, all while enjoying fine Mexican cuisine and one of our specialty margaritas. The scenic Santa Cruz Wharf is the perfect setting for a celebration of the surf spirit and classic surf wagons. More than 200 pre-1950s "woodies" line the wharf. ENTER A TEAM IN THE ALOHA CELEBRITY RACES!
These short course outrigger races set for Sunday, August 15, 2010 are designed especially for new or novice paddlers. You provide four people and we will provide a stroker, steersperson, canoe and instruction to start you racing. The $100.00 entry fee ($125.00 beginning August 1) includes 4 T-shirts. 1st - 3rd place teams will receive awards. Proceeds benefit the Pu Pu O'Hawaii Outrigger Canoe Club. Entry forms will be available soon in the Parks and Recreation Office, 323 Church Street. The Santa Cruz Municipal Wharf celebrates Locals Day every Tuesday. At Olitas, we feature specially priced entrees for only $9.95, offered all day, along with our taco special in the bar and lounge.
